AAC resources at Tobii Dynavox

I am always looking for free AAC resources. TobiiDynavox has some of the BEST resources for working on Core Words. Visit their site here:

It is free to create an account and then all the resources are free as well. Fo freeeeee! The best. Once you create a login, go to Support -> Resources -> Resources -> Ideas for Therapy and Everyday Use. Under this tab, you will find simple lesson plans and Core Word books.

These are wonderful for school! Last year, I sent out Monday emails to our sped team with a core word of the week with the corresponding lesson plan pages and attached the books that addressed each core word.

I feel like teachers often want to help and work with AAC students, but just don't know what to do! These lesson plans literally give them a script to use to take a picture walk, address vocab, and then read the book together. It guides them completely!

I chose to print, laminate, and bind these books. I put a little sticker on each that tells what core word it targets. If you want a faster way to use, download them as ibooks on the ipad. You can scroll through each page and you know the kids love it!

There are also so great handouts for teachers and parents about ways to increase use in the home. They provide research about myths of AAC and info about starting with core words. It's all fantastic and so easy because you just download and print. The information pertains to not just dynavox but all AAC users.

Do you have any other free AAC resources that you love?
