For my articulation kids this week, I did a stocking activity that they loved.
I printed the cute stocking on red paper from: Speech Sprouts
For articulation, I worked at the word level having the kids say the words on their sticks. I used the carrier phrase "in the stocking" for me phrase level kids and "I want _____ in my stocking" for kids working at the sentence level.
I used it in my language groups as well. We compared/contrasted pictures on the sticks, made sentences about the words, sorted into categories, and tried to make up silly stories using all the words in their stockings.
For all the kids, I had them decide whether they would want it in their stocking or not and why. They thought this was hilarious and got really creative with their answers.
I loved doing this simple activity. It lasted the whole 30 minutes without the kids getting antsy. Some of my 2x a week kids asked for it again.
