speech room love

I am loving loving loving my speech room this year! I really feel like it takes a good year to get settled in a space. I am so fortunate to have gotten a perfectly sized office with lots of storage! It even has a horseshoe table. Who doesn't love a horseshoe table? Last but not least, it has a window to the outside! No cave with no light for me! I have had friends working as SLPs in the school who have literally worked out of closets, corners, and one...a converted bathroom.....definitely counting my blessings on my campus!

I have 2 shelves that are great for storage but kids were driving me crazy taking things off without asking and whining to play certain games that they could see on the shelf. My mom solved all my problems and made precious curtains out of grey and white polka dot material. We hung them up with cheap tension rods. Then we crafted a sweet pennant banner following this tutorial: Pennant Banner

Best part....no sewing involved. I skipped a step and didn't cut my own fabric triangles. Instead, I found pre-cut fabric squares at Walmart. I folded them diagonally and ironed so that the crease stayed put before adding the Stitch Witchery. They came in a pack of 32 squares and made up of 8 different coordinating patterns. Perfect! You can purchase here: Fabric Squares

I had tons of books that I have collected over the years along with companion materials that  I have printed and laminated to use in therapy. Before the end of last year they were out of control and far from organized. My mom gifted me these magazine holders from Lakeshore that I LOVE! They are heavy duty plastic so they don't get worn down from taking books in and out. They also have a textures bottom that seems to grip the counter. When I tried book bins before, the weight of my books was too much and they toppled. These stand tall and strong. I organized by month with themed materials and books that I generally pull at that time. You can purchase these bins here: Box Bins

Im happy to start the year organized and cute! Hope this inspires speech room decoration in your own room. Having a peaceful, pulled-together space makes everything better!
